fingerprint signatures

The ESIGN (Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce) Act contains a definition of what they mean by electronic signature: “The term ‘electronic signature’ means an electronic sound, symbol, or process, attached to or logically associated with a contract or other record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record.”

I created a series of signatures that were created from the digitization of my fingerprints. I used an ink pad and paper to record my fingerprints, scanned the fingerprints with a scanner, then converted the scanned image into a vector drawing in Adobe Illustrator. This allowed me the freedom to create a completely unique signature using the whirls and loops of my fingerprints.
